Mildred E. Southerwick

October 19, 1910 — November 27, 2006

Mildred E. Southerwick, age 96, of Sister Bay, formerly of West Bend, passed away Monday, November 27, 2006 at Scandia Village Good Samaritan in Sister Bay.

She was born on October 19, 1910 in Chicago, IL to the late Thor and Bertha (nee Larson) Southerwick. Mildred was raised in the Chicago area and after graduating from high school she worked as a bookkeeper for the Chicago Printed String Company for many years. After retirement she moved to Iowa for several years before moving to Meadowbrook Manor in West Bend in 1983. Mildred moved to Scandia Village in 2003.

Mildred was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in West Bend. She had been active in the programs provided at Meadowbrook Manor, and enjoyed sewing, cross-stitch, and especially baking old family Norwegian specialties. Mildred also spent many years caring for her extended family.

She is survived by three nieces, Barbara Schall of Sister Bay, Karen Buckley of Colorado, and Kay Teece of St. Germain; two nephews, Mark (Jan) Krueger of Jackson, and Todd (Kellie) Hoffmeister of Menomonee Falls; three great-nieces, Rebecca (Chad) Crass of Grafton, Erin Schall of Dallas, TX, and Amy (Bill) Gorecki of South Milwaukee; a great-nephew, Andy Teece of St. Germain; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Southerwick and his wife, Lucille.

Funeral services for Mildred will be held on Thursday November 30th at 8:00 pm at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. Rev. Joseph Fisher will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will take place Friday at 11:00 am in Memorial Park Cemetery in Skokie, IL.
