Milton E. "Milt" Bunke, age 69, died peacefully at his home surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, August 31, 2007.
He was born on February 18, 1938 in West Bend to the late Ernie and Rose (nee Bruessel) Bunke. Milt was united in marriage to Rita Schaefer on April 19, 1958 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Allenton. He was employed at Serigraph in West Bend for 20 years before becoming a service technician for the 7up Bottling Company of West Bend for another twenty years. As a young boy, Milt enjoyed spending time with his pa hunting. He eventually passed that tradition on to his two sons by taking them on many hunting trips to Florence County. He was a NASCAR enthusiast and also enjoyed shooting trap. Milt was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend.
Milt is survived by his beloved wife, Rita of West Bend; and his two loving sons, Scott (Debbie) Bunke of Wauwatosa, and Jeff (Lorie) Bunke of Rosemount, MN. He was especially proud of his four grandchildren, Matt, Ben, Kate, and Mitch Bunke. He is further survived by his three sisters, Joan Bunke of Des Moines IA, Carol (Bob) Giombetti of Madison, and Jan (Doug) Statzer of Fairland, IL; and many other relatives and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Milt's life will be held on Wednesday, September 5, at 1:00 pm at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. Father Jerry Brittain will be the celebrant. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, at the church, from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.
Memorials to Holy Angels Catholic Church, the American Cancer Society, or to the American Heart Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.
