Milton B. "Ben" May, age 70 of West Bend, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday April 10, 2009 at the Samaritan Health Center.
Ben was born on April 3, 1939 in Baraboo to the late Milton B. and June (nee Matthews-Dickow) May Sr.
On September 13, 1986 Ben was united in marriage to Elizabeth Zavodski-Orlandini in Milwaukee. They lived in Menomonee Falls and Ben was employed with the Brown Deer School System until retiring in 2002. They moved to Jackson for a short time and then to West Bend in 2003.
Ben was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church, active in Wild West reenactments and rendezvous, an avid hunter and fisherman, and a friend of Dr. Bob and Bill W. for 33 years.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Elizabeth; best buddy and step-father of, Peter (Manda) Orlandini of Genesee, and Brian (Stephanie) Orlandini of Denver, CO; father of, Scott (Gretchen) May of Menomonee Falls, Patrick May of Milwaukee, and Terry (Lisa) May of Milwaukee; dearest grandpa Ben of Catie, Megan, Olivia, Nicolas, and Caleb Orlandini; grandfather of Eric, Shane, and Brittany May; brother of Robert (Christi) May of Quincy, IL; brother-in-law of, Ann (Frank) Schmidt of Hubertus, and Katarina Zavodski of Janesville; nephew of, Ruth (Clem) Evans of Portage; cousin of, James (Diane) Ramsey of Merrimac; his best pal, "Bo"; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and his church family at Calvary Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and stepfather, John Dickow.
A memorial service in remembrance of Ben will be held on Saturday April 18th at 10:00 am at Calvary Assembly of God Church (1110 E. Decorah Rd.). Rev. John Garcia will officiate. Immediately following the service there will be a luncheon with the family at the church. Cremation took place at Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral & Cremation Service and private family entombment will be held in Washington County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation are appreciated.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of the Samaritan Health Center for the loving care Ben received.
