Myra J.Trotter, (nee Larson), age 73, of Iron Ridge, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at The Kathy Hospice in West Bend.
She was born on January 2, 1942 in Minot, ND to the late Glen and Nora (Nee Chilson) Larson, and graduated from Douglas School as Salutatorian in the class of 1959. She then attended Beauty School to become a hairdresser.
Myra was working as a co-hostess at the U.S.O. Club in Minot where she met the love of her life, Thomas Trotter. They were united in marriage on December 6, 1964 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Douglas, ND. They soon moved to Hartford for a short time before moving to Iron Ridge in 1967. While in Iron Ridge they became devout loyal members of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.
Myra worked as a hairdresser at Gilmore House of Beauty in Minot, and also out of her home in Iron Ridge for many years. She was also an employee of the former Mayville Metal Company for 35 years, retiring in 2005.
She is survived by two children, Rebecca Trotter of Iron Ridge, and Shane (Anita) Trotter of Horicon; four grandchildren, Jordan (Christopher) Fritz, Matthew Gehrman, Jacob Trotter, and Katelyn Trotter; three great-grandchildren, Damian Fritz, Natalie Fritz, and Thomas Fritz; three sisters, Cleo Wagner of Garrison, ND, Joan Varty of Minot, ND, and her twin sister Mary (Virgil) Wagner of Olympia, WA; two brothers, Gail “Spanky” (Gloria) Larson of Garrison, ND, and Ivan (Arthleen) Larson of Bismarck, ND; sister-in-law, Noreen (Curt) Rettler of Tampa, FL; brother-in-law, Richard (Kathleen) Trotter of Rhinelander; special friend, Kimberly Alexander of Hartford; other relatives and many friends.
Myra was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Nora; husband, Tom in 2004; daughter, Nanette Maury in 2013; grandson, Joshua Trotter in 2004; along with two brothers-in-law, Elmer Wagner, and Edward Varty.
Funeral services in remembrance of Myra will be held on Monday August 10th at 5:00 pm at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church (308 Herman St.) Iron Ridge. Rev. Larry Mose will officiate. Inurnment of her cremated remains will be in St. Matthew’s Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday at the church from 2:00 pm until the time of service.
