Myrtle E. Liepert (nee Abel), 86, of West Bend, Passed away on Wednesday December 31, 2014 at The Emerald Way in West Bend.
Myrtle was born on March 10, 1928 in West Bend to the late Elmer and Elvira (nee Schaefer) Abel, and was united in marriage to Lloyd Liepert at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend on May 28, 1949.
She worked as a sales clerk in a women's clothing store and at Maus Jewelry Store for many years, but Myrtle was most proud of her 40 years as an accordion player for the Tony Berres Orchestra.
Myrtle was a member of Fifth Ave. United Methodist Church, the Women of the Moose, and former member of St. Joseph's Hospital Ladies Aux. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and canning. Myrtle's greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She is survived by three children, Dale (Sandy) Liepert of Montello, Dennis (Tammy) Liepert of West Bend, and Susan (James) Good of Yorba Linda, CA; 10 grandchildren, Matthew (Tracy) Liepert, Andrea (Jeff) Simon, Guy (Kami) Liepert, Amy (Nick) Liepert-Horneye, MD, Grace Good, Charles Good, Cory (Jaime) Kordosky, Jake Kordosky, Renee (Nick) Yenter, and Tim Radolf; six great-grandchildren, Sam Liepert, Jack Liepert, Grant Simon, Chase Simon, Diesel Liepert, and Kalisia Liepert; a sister, Ethel Benike of West Bend; two sisters-in-law, Janice (Allan) Kempf of Chilton, and Gloria Liepert of Kewaskum; three brothers-in-law, Ralph (Marilyn) Liepert of West Bend, Willis (Janis) Liepert of Random Lake, and Francis Nennig of Grafton; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer & Elvira; Her husband, Lloyd in 2002; her son, Douglas Liepert in 2014; daughter-in-law, Barbara Liepert; twin sister, Myra Nennig; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Lila & Robert Boerger, Bud & Luella Liepert, Arthur Benike, Glenn & Verna Grasse, Lois & Wallas Junge, and Lavern Young; along with a dear friend, Margaret Strobel.
Funeral services in remembrance of Myrtle will be held on Sunday January 4th at 4:00 pm at Fifth Ave. United Methodist Church (323 S. 5th Ave.) West Bend. Rev. Jeremy Deaner will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday at the church from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park at 10:00 am.
