Nancy Dymale

August 26, 1931 — May 24, 2006

Nancy Jean Dymale, (nee Sceper), age 74, of West Bend, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee.

She was born on August 26, 1931, in Port Washington to the late Alfred and Marie (nee Roever) Sceper. Nan always loved to write. Her passion for writing inspired her to take a position as a writer for the West Bend Pilot where she fell in love with her future husband. She was united in marriage to George Dymale on August 26, 1950, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. He preceded her in death on August 6, 2001.

Later in her career she also wrote for the West Bend Booster and even wrote a book on the history of the Washington County Sheriff's Department. In addition to her career as a writer Nan began a career on the radio hosting the "House Wife Exchange" on WBKV. She also worked for WOKY and WEMP. She even tried TV for a while, working in the advertising department for WISN TV. Before retiring Nan also became the owner and operator of a store called the Fruit Basket.

Her energy didn't end at work. In her younger days she was an avid bowler. She was very active with her church and sang in the choir for many years. She was also a past-president of the West Bend Lioness Club. Nan was a very smart and classy woman. She was a devoted daughter to her mother, a devoted mother to her children, and a wonderful friend to so many people. She will be remembered most all for her compassion and generosity that she so graciously gave to over two dozen foster children.

She is survived by six children, Mark (Janet) Dymale, Keith Dymale, John Dymale, Lisa (John) Ryan, David Dymale, and Chris (Lupe) Dymale; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Tom) Hewitt, Mark Dymale Jr., Mitchell Ryan, Casey Jo Ryan, and Merari Dymale; and two great-grandchildren Amber and Ashley Hewitt. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Anita Drees; a brother-in-law, Robert (Florence) Dymale; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services in honor of Nan's life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2006, at 1:00 pm at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home in West Bend. Rev. Jeffrey Haines, of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, will officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park.
