Neal G. Straub, 90, of the town of Ashford, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum.
He was born on May 11, 1924, in the town of Ashford, the son of the late Hugo Sr. and Margaret (Weninger) Straub, and on May 29, 1954, he was united in marriage to Lyra Bauer at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in LeRoy. Lyra preceded Neal in death on May 8, 2014.
Before farming on the family farm, Neal worked for Kewaskum Dairy. After Retirement he enjoyed plowing snow for the town of Ashford where he served on the town board. Neal also served on the Campbellsport school board for a number of years. He was a member of St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian and a member of the Knights of Columbus Father Casper Rehrl Council #1964 West Bend.
Those Neal leaves behind to cherish his memory a brother, Charles (Dolores) Straub of Kewaskum; a sister, Sr. Audrey Straub S.S.N.D of Milwaukee; two brothers-in-law, Roger Bauer of the town of Kewaskum and Donald (Anne) Bauer of Mayville and four sisters-in-law, Ruth Ruhland of Oakfield, Betty Bauer of LeRoy, Helen Bauer of Fond du Lac and Isabelle Straub of Kewaskum , nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Neal was preceded in death by three brothers, Hugo Straub Jr., Fr. Carrol Straub and Claude (Ethel) Straub; two brothers-in-law, Edgar Bauer and Felix Bauer and a sister-in-law, Elaine Bauer.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Neal will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian. Father Neil Zinthefer will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum has been entrusted with Neal's arrangements.
