Norman H. Tornow Sr

September 7, 1929 — June 6, 2005

Norman H. Tornow Sr., age 75, of Big Cedar Lake, Slinger, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 6, 2005 at his residence.

He was born on September 7, 1929 in Clintonville to the late Art and Leona (nee Pruess) Tornow. Norman was united in marriage to Hazel Lucht on September 16, 1950 in Marion.

Norman worked as a bricklayer foreman and supervisor for 34 years until retiring in 1980. His life included much involvement in church, including singing as a tenor in choir, men's chorus, and soloing at many weddings and funerals. He enjoyed baseball, fishing, hunting, and many other sports with his extended family. Norman and his family have resided at Big Cedar Lake since 1974, and are members of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Slinger.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Hazel; Caring father of Sherri (Jim) Hiller, Jackie (Ed) Landry, Brian (Peggy) Tornow, Norm Tornow Jr., and Jeff (Kristen) Tornow; Treasured grandfather of Abby & Jonathan Hiller, Christopher, Joe, Stephanie, & Andrew Landry, Kelly, Kara, Jeffrey, Ben, Matt, Nick, & Sam Tornow; brother of Merlin (Jeanette) Tornow; Brother-in-law of Arlene (Ed) Fenney & Ruth Bergman; He is further survived by many other loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 11th at 12:00 (Noon) at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 4860 Arthur Rd. (HWY NN), Slinger. Rev. Rick Lawrence will officiate. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service. A luncheon at the church will follow.

Memorials to St. Luke Lutheran Church or Heartland Hospice (1072 gateway Ct. West Bend, WI 53095) are appreciated by the family.
