Norman E. “Irish” Grantman, 88, of the town of Lomira, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home in Fond du Lac.
He was born on January 25, 1926, in the town of Lomira, the son of the late Elmer and Grace (Ablard) Grantman, and on February 22, 1964, he was united in marriage to Thelma Navis in Waupun. Thelma preceded Norman in death on January 22, 2013.
Norman served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira, the Bintzer-Waehler American Legion Post 347 Lomira and the Fond du Lac Shriners for many years.
Those Norman leaves behind to cherish his memory include his daughter, Lauri Grantman of Lomira; a brother-in-law, Germaine (Carol) Navis of Waupun; two sisters-in-law, Joan (Norman) Anderson of Carroll, Iowa and Betty Grantman of Lomira, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Norman was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin and Gordon Grantman.
Funeral services for Norman were held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira. Rev. Kerry Wilson officiated and burial with military honor rites by members of the Bintzer-Waehler American Legion Post 347 Lomira was at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday in Ebenezer Cemetery in the town of Lomira.
Relatives and friends called at the church on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services.
The Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home in Lomira was entrusted with Norman’s arrangements.
