Olaf Guenther Emil Fuchs, age 58, of West Bend, passed away Thursday November 13, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital, West Bend.
He was born July 7, 1950 in Bad Kreuznach, Germany to the late Emil and Helena (Kristen) Fuchs. Olaf came to the U.S. in 1955 with parents. He attended West Bend High School and graduated in the class 1968. Following high school, he attended U.W. Washington County where he earned an associate degree. On July 3, 1976, Olaf was united in marriage to Carol Diels at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. He later went on to attend the Moraine Park Technical College for tool & die. He worked as a tool & die maker for the Gehl Company and also as a gunsmith. Most recently he went back to MPTC where he learned to become a computer numerical control (CNC) operator.
He enjoyed hunting: was a lifetime member of NRA and belonged to the West Bend Barton Sportsman's Club. He was also a member of HOGs. He spent his time building model airplanes, he like riding motorcycles, sports cars and playing with remote control cars.
He is survived by his daughter, Michele (Brandon) Sagan of West Bend, his former wife, Carol; his dear aunt, Walburga Anlauf of Munster, Germany; several cousins, Wolfgang (Inge) Fuchs of Rudesheim, Germany, Wilfred Anlauf of Munster, Germany, Meinolf (Martina) Anlauf of Munster, Germany; his second cousin, Andreas Fuchs of Rudesheim, Germany; other relatives and dear friends.
Private family services for Olaf were held. Memorials to the family are appreciated.
