Patricia “Trish” Garner (Berry), age 81 years, of Colgate was unexpectedly called home to be with the Lord on November 6, 2022.
Trish was born on December 7, 1940 in Milwaukee to Henry and Julia Berry (Halley). She was united in marriage John Garner on January 23, 1995, in West Bend, Wisconsin.
Trish grew up in Fox Point, WI and went to the University School of Milwaukee for high school. She later attended to both Mary Baldwin College in Virginia and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After college, while visiting Japan in the early 1960’s, she climbed Mt. Fuji (and had the climbing stick to prove it). She was an avid animal lover and had many dogs and cats throughout her life. She loved spending time on the porch enjoying the countryside’s flora and fauna, especially the deer and many birds that visited their feeders and land.
Trish was a devoted wife to her husband, and a dedicated and loving Mom to her three children. While raising her family, she was a great sailor and boater, could knit or sew almost anything, volunteered in her kid’s middle school art room, listened to too much Johnny Mathis, loved decorating for Christmas, instilled her love of cooking, old movies, and movie musicals in her kids, insisted on the correct pronunciation of the word ‘croissant’, was involved with The Special Olympics, the Brownies and Girl Scouts, the Junior League of Milwaukee, and the Service Club. More recently, she became a skilled master quilter, and enjoyed traveling the Midwest and Canada participating in 18th century Rendezvous reenactments with her husband.
Those Trish leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 27 years, John; her two children, Jennifer Bell and Charles Walker; her grandchildren, Nicholas, Cass, and Kaleigh; her brother-in-law, Donald Schneeberger; and her nieces, Trish (Gary) Wicker and Linda (Greg) Shifflett. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Trish was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Walker; and her sister, Julie Schneeberger.
A private graveside service will be held at Zion Methodist Cemetery in Colgate.
The family would like to thank the Richfield EMTs for their extraordinary care and compassion.
Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Trish’s arrangements. Please consider signing our online guest book (www.myrhum-patten.com) to share your condolences with the family.
