The Lord in His abundant mercy sent His angel to carry home the soul of Pauline E. Mumm on Saturday, November 29, 2014.
Pauline was born on March 23, 1922 in Chattanooga, TN to the late John and Clara (nee Claussen) Meyer. She was united in marriage to the Rev. George A. Mumm on July 27, 1952 in Chattanooga. The couple lived in Illinois; Michigan, Iowa, and Wisconsin, before settling in West Bend, Wisconsin in 1966.
Pauline served St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend as an organist, she taught Bible study and Sunday school, sang in the choir, was a wedding coordinator, member of the L.W.M.L., Ladies Guild and the Ladies Aid. Pauline enjoyed having her family home and entertaining family and friends. She was an excellent cook. She was also artistic and loved hand painting Christmas cookies.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. George A. Mumm; three sons, the Rev. David (Kathy) Mumm, Timothy Mumm, and James (Sharon) Mumm; eight grandchildren, Sarah (Rev. Arthur) Werzner, Nathaniel (Erin) Mumm, Naomi (Scott) MacDonald, BJ (Amy) Mumm, Rebekah (Travis) Roehl, Anna Mumm, Ruth Mumm, and Julia Mumm; five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Werzner, Austin Mumm, Clay Mumm, Sean Mumm, and Eli Mumm; a sister, Alice Mariani; two brothers, Robert Meyer and Walter Meyer; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark Mumm; and two brothers, John Meyer and Edgar Meyer.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 8 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Ave., West Bend, with entombment following at Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. Visitation will be at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend, on Sunday, December 7 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the George and Pauline Mumm Scholarship or St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church are appreciated.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of the Samaritan Health Center, Hospice Advantage, the pastoral staff of St. John's Ev. Lutheran, and Dr. Renee Jahnke.
