Phillip Zangl

Phillip R. Zangl, age 75 of West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2011.

He was born on July 31, 1936 in Antigo, Wisconsin to the late Reinhold and Leona (nee Prehn) Zangl. Phillip graduated from Antigo High School in the class of 1955. He served in the Wisconsin National Guard from 1955 until 1961. On September 7, 1957, he was united in marriage to Barbara Young in Merrill, Wisconsin.

Phillip worked as a machinist at Pabst Brewery for 32 years before retiring in 1996. He was a family man who in his free time enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, and working on cars and motorcycles.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara of West Bend; four children, Michael (Bonnie) Zangl of Hartford, Steve (Wendy) Zangl of Campbellsport; Laura (Jay) Faber of West Bend and Lynn (Rick) Zerwinski of West Bend; six grandchildren, Marc Pyne, Lindsey Zangl, Nick and Luke Zangl, and Mitch and Morgan Zerwinski; two sisters, Alice Zangl of Antigo and Mary (Randy) Risch of Milwaukee; brother, Laurence (Beverly) Zangl of Sussex; three sisters-in-law, Joann Zangl of Shelton, WA, Laraine (Tim) Peterson of Waleska, GA and Dodie (John) Rockelmann of McAllen, TX; other relatives and friends.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Harold Zangl.

An open house celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 20th from 12:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Wegner's Cedar Lake Inn (4919 Hwy 144 S. on Big Cedar Lake).
