Phyllis J. Markgraf, nee Dean, age 87, of West Bend, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Froedtert Health St. Joseph's Hospital in the Town of Polk.
She was born on October 25, 1924 in West Bend to the late Henry and Bertha (nee Laatsch) Dean. On June 19, 1943, Phyllis was united in marriage to David Markgraf in West Bend. Together they shared a special love for 59 years. David preceded her in death on July 3, 2002.
She worked for Amity as a product inspector for many years and also at the Sentry Food Store in West Bend.
Phyllis was a member of the former Christian Science Society in West Bend. Her greatest joy was the love of her family.
She was the loving mother of Gary (Jean) Markgraf of Kennedale, TX and Gail (John) Neuman of West Bend; proud grandmother to five grandsons, Jeff (Michelle) Markgraf of Fort Worth TX, Jay Markgraf of Austin, TX, Jamie (Theresa) Kahut of West Bend, Jonathan Kahut of West Bend, and J.P. (Lori) Neuman of West Bend. Phyllis is further survived by four great-grandchildren, Piper Markgraf, Ava Kahut, Maci Neuman, and Brody Neuman; sister, Marion Frey, of Milwaukee; special niece, Melba Zanoni of Milwaukee; other relatives and friends.
Memorials in Phyllis's name to The Kathy Hospice are appreciated by the family.
In honor of Phyllis's wishes, a private family funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 28th at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home in West Bend. Cremation will follow.
