Ralph W. Althaus, age 88, of West Bend, passed away Friday October 9, 2015 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.
He was born on August 12, 1927 in West Bend to the late Carl L. and Dorothea (nee Richter) Althaus, and graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1945.
Ralph spent his entire working career at the West Bend Company, and was a member of the West Bend Company 25 year club. He retired in 1978.
He was a lifetime member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, active in the church choir and as a Sunday school teacher. Besides cooking and gardening, Ralph mostly enjoyed helping and caring for others.
Those Ralph leaves behind to cherish his memory are his sister-in-law, Geraldine Althaus of West Bend; nephew, Carl (Jean) Althaus Jr. of West Bend; great-niece, Stacey Althaus of Huston, TX; great-nephew, Trevor Althaus of Los Angeles, CA; special friends, Susie Karius of Slinger, Jim and Kathy Jungers of West Bend, Rick Richter of West Bend; other relatives and friends.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Dorothea; sister and her husband, Carol (Vernon) Laux; two brothers, Carl Althaus Sr. and Paul Althaus; his niece and God daughter, Linda Althaus.
Memorial services in remembrance of Ralph will be held on Thursday October 15th at 11:00 am at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church (809 S. 6th Ave.) West Bend. Rev. David Kellerman will officiate.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service. Inurnment of Ralph’s cremated remains will follow in Washington County Memorial Park.
