Ralph A. Ewert, age 72, of the town of Richfield, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 9, 2007 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on September 28, 1935 in West Bend, to the late Otto and Celia (nee Rady) Ewert. Ralph graduated from the West Bend High School in 1953 and began a lifelong career in floor covering that lasted over 44 years during which time he was the owner and operator of Imperial House in West Bend along with his brother Karl.
Ralph was united in marriage to Kathy Schultz on May 26, 1956 at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. They enjoyed raising four son's together and delighted in their six grandchildren.
Ralph was a hard worker, but he always found time for family, traveling, and many outdoor activities. He was an avid Milwaukee baseball fan and Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed wood working, and living in the country during his retirement.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Kathy of Richfield; his four sons, Ralph L. (Janet) Ewert of Menomonee Falls, Douglas O. (Denise) Ewert of the town of Barton, Paul J. (Karen) Ewert of the town of Jackson, and Stanton D. Ewert of Germantown; six grandchildren, Jason, Ame, Russell (Krista), Emily, Alex, and Annah Ewert; and four sisters, Mildred (James) Rienke, Pauline (Delbert) Schmidt, Dorothy Rick, and Shirley Weston. He is further survived by many other dear relatives and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Otto (Diane), and Karl (Gail) Ewert; and a brother-in-law, Burke Weston.
A celebration of Ralph's life will be held on Saturday, December 15, at 12:30 pm at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church (1350 Hwy 175 Hubertus, WI 53033). Rev. Jay Thorson will officiate and a reception will follow the service. A private family committal of Ralph's cremated remains will take place in Washington County Memorial Park at a later date.
