Raymond O. Asmus, age 83, of West Bend, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the Lighthouse of West Bend.
Ray was born on July 19, 1929, in Theresa, to the late Albert and Leona (nee Ewert) Asmus. He graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1947. On June 10, 1950, Ray was united in marriage to Eloyse Fruechte at St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Eitzen, MN.
He worked as a newspaper printer for the West Bend News.
Ray was a lifetime member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Eloyse Asmus of West Bend; sister, Shirley Weston of West Bend; sister-in-law, Muriel (Glen) Schroeder of Caledonia, MN; four brothers-in-law, Arnold (Elizabeth) Fruechte of Caledonia, MN, Vernon (Naomi) Fruechte of Caledonia, MN, Neil (Sharon) Fruechte of Waseca, MN, and Lawrence (Judy) Fruechte of Caledonia, MN; other relatives and friends.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; his two sons, Randy in 1982 and Terry in 1999; and brother-in-law, Burte Weston.
Funeral services in remembrance of Ray will be held on Wednesday, July 25th at 12:00 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Avenue, West Bend with Rev. Jeff Dorth officiating. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
