Raymond C. Hron

Raymond C. "Ray" Hron, 88, of West Bend, entered eternal life on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Samaritan Health Center, West Bend.

He was born June 26, 1924 in West Bend to the late George and Edna (nee Fromm) Hron. Ray attended West Bend public schools and graduated from West Bend High School in 1943. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in the European theater during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946 as a Buck Sergeant.

Ray was united in marriage to Gladys Kraemer on June 18, 1949 at St. Peter's Ev. Church in Jackson. Ray was a State of Wisconsin licensed butter maker and cream tester. He was employed at the Level Valley Dairy for 40 years, retiring in 1982.

Ray was a lifelong member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend and he was active in a Lutheran social bowling league for 40 years. Ray was honored by the Blood Center of Southeastern Wisconsin as a milestone level blood donor and dedicated volunteer from April 1965 to February 2005. During that time Ray donated 157 pints of blood.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gladys; a brother, Webster (Cheri) Hron of West Bend; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Edwin, William and Sylvester. Funeral services in remembrance of Ray will be held on Thursday, October 18 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 809 S. 6th Ave., West Bend. Rev. Jeff Dorth will officiate and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
