Raymond A. "Ray" Stallman, 70, of the town of Lomira, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014, at the Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mayville.
He was born on February 2, 1944, in Random Lake, the son of the late Florian and Irene (Boldt) Stallman, and on May 29, 2004, he was united in marriage to Andrea J. Girard.
Ray proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was a member of Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Post 347 in Lomira and a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Campbellsport. His hobbies included restoring antique tractors and attending classic car and antique tractor shows.
Those Ray leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Andrea; three stepchildren, Charlene Sweeny of Rochester, New York, Joseph (Virginia) Girard of Oshkosh and Nicolle Girard of Appleton; three brothers, John Stallman of Mauston, James Stallman (special friend, Sarah) of Hartford and Charles (Judy) Stallman of West Bend; a sister, Faye Laper of Madison; a brother-in-law, Gary Kalkofen of West Bend; three step-grandchildren, Dan and Veronica Sweeny and Samantha Girard; special friends, Mel and Maryann Guell of Menomonee Falls, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty (Tony) Mueller and Charlotte Kalkofen and a sister-in-law, Jean Stallman.
A Memorial Mass for Ray was held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Campbellsport with Father John Radetski officiating. Burial of Ray's cremains was in Newark Cemetery in the town of Barton.
Ray's family greeted relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
Memorials to the family are appreciated.
The Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home in Lomira was entrusted with Ray's arrangements.
The family would especially like to thank Dr. Charles Sammis, Dr. Eric Olaffson (and his “brigade”), the staff of Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital in the town of Polk and Generations Hospice of Fond du Lac for their excellent care and compassion provided to Ray and his family.
