Raymond C. Mentink, 84, of the town of Wayne, formerly of New Berlin, peacefully entered Heaven on Wednesday, June 11, 2014.
He was born on September 22, 1929, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Hugo and Flora Rose (Wolke) Mentink, and on May 1, 1965, he was united in marriage to Rose Marie Grandy at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Rose preceded Raymond in death on April 4, 2008.
Raymond was employed by General Electric in various engineering capacities, retiring in 1980 in the position as program engineer, after 35 years of service. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum and an active volunteer with Stephen's Ministry at Cedar Lake Health Care Center in West Bend.
Those Raymond leaves behind to cherish his memory include two loving children, Joseph (Peggie) Mentink of the town of Wayne and Rose Mary (Ken) Ripp of Hortonville; five adoring grandchildren, Megan, Morgan, Grace, Benjamin and Nathan, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Raymond was preceded in death by two brothers, Father Hugo Mentink and Anthony "Tony" (Jody) Mentink and a sister, Mary (Robert) Linz.
The celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond was held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2014, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. Father Edwin Kornath presided and burial followed in the parish cemetery.
The Mentink family greeted relatives and friends on Monday at the church from noon until the time of Mass.
The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum was entrusted with Raymond's arrangements.
