Reed G. Quade

March 23, 1915 — December 11, 2005

Reed G. Quade, "Butch," age 90, of West Bend, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2005 at Synergy Health- St. Joseph's Hospital in the town of Polk.

He was born on March 23, 1915 on the family homestead farm in the town of Trenton to the late Edwin and Emma (nee Poetzel) Quade. On September 25, 1943 Reed was united in marriage to Amanda Dorzok at Immanuel United Church of Christ in West Bend. Together they farmed in the town of Trenton until 1959. They then moved to West Bend and Reed became an inspector at the former West Bend Lithia Company. After retiring from there he became a maintenance supervisor at the Washington County Courthouse and Jail.

Reed was a member of New Hope United Church of Christ in Jackson, the West Bend Moose Lodge # 1398, and the Kettle Moraine Squares. He enjoyed collecting die cast model tractors.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda; three children, Sharon (Paul) Ristow of Hartland, Donald (friend Trisha) Quade of West Bend, and James (Sandi) Quade of West Bend; four grandchildren, Emmie (Dave) Nosek, Reed (Gina) Mayer, Steve (Janelle) Quade, and Jason (Jackie) Quade; eight great-grandchildren, Hannah Nosek, Ella Nosek, Mackenzie Nosek, Raquel Mayer, Jessica Mayer, Reed Mayer Jr., Ethan Quade, and Reed Quade; three brothers-in-law, Eldor (Lillian) Dorzok of West Bend, Edwin (Barbara) Dorzok of Parkston, SD, and Wilmer Dorzok of West Bend; along with his special companion, Ginger the dog; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Clarence Johnson.

Funeral services to remember Reed's life will be held on Thursday, December 15th at 1:00 pm at New Hope United Church of Christ in Jackson. Rev. James Hill will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday at the church only from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Entombment will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend.
