Richard P. Hambly, age 60, of West Bend, succumbed to his illness and was called home to be with his wife, Colleen, and the Lord on September 3rd, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in West Bend.
Richard will forever be deeply missed by his daughters, Lisa Wortham and Tricia Hambly; step-children, Jeffrey Petitte and Angela Hering; his six grandchildren, Tristan, Trena, Kyrsten, Brennan, Lexie and Johnathan; his family and friends.
Richard was a kind and loving man whose generosity was acknowledged by all who knew him. He was the best man a father could be.
He worked as a welder at Bradley Corporation for 30 years but very much enjoyed fixing and building computers in his free time.
He cherished his family and would often play cards and host game night. He had always enjoyed bingo and would take his children to sessions when they were younger. This tradition continued, earning him the nickname "One Away Hambly".
He was a simple man who liked to travel, go to dinner or a movie, a cookout or a baseball game. He was an avid fan of both the Packers and Brewers.
His sense of humor is unforgettable and was thankfully passed on to his children.
Though a difficult decision to make, we are honoring his request to forego a service. Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service will be assisting the family. Our father was a private man who didn't want for much. Those who were closest to him were able to say goodbye. We respect his wishes and are comforted knowing that he chose to celebrate his life while he lived it.
There are no words to express our grief over this devastating and tremendous loss. We mourn our future plans as a moment is now a memory. You will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. We thank you for sharing with us a lifetime of laughter and love.
