It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Richard E. Sieckman, age 92, on October 9, 2013.
He was the loving husband of Beth, proud and guiding father of Mark and Scott and served as a second father to Matthias Kastell. He is also survived by his sister, Doris Zirbel and many relatives and friends.
We will greatly miss his unconditional love for his family, his great sense of humor, his patience and the guidance he lovingly shared with all of us.
After growing up in Milwaukee, Dick served during WWII in the 95th Infantry Division, Company I, eventually as Staff Sergeant. After the war, and up to his death, he kept in touch with fellow comrades and was active in writing newsletters and documenting facts about the war that would otherwise have been lost.
After WWII he graduated from UW-Madison and then married Beth in 1954. He started work for E.F. Schmidt Printing and later worked for Prudential Insurance Company. Dick and Beth built their dream home in the country, where they raised their family. His interest in so many things never dwindled; woodworking, gardening, traveling and helping in many ways at Monches Farm.
He will continue to inspire us in countless ways.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Veterans Association of your choice.
