Richard J. Tuchscherer, 80, of West Bend, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the Samaritan Health Center, West Bend.
He was born on July 24, 1927 in Milwaukee to Alex and Helen (nee Dreblow) Tuchscherer. During WWII he served in the U.S. Marine Corp in the Pacific being stationed in China, Okinawa, and Guam. On June 27, 1953, he was united in marriage to Florence Kurtz.
Richard retired in 1985 as Captain of Administration at the Washington County Sheriff Department where he served for 24 years. He was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion for 57 years.
He is survived by his wife, Florence; two sons, Paul (Deanna) Tuchscherer and Timothy (Joyce) Tuchscherer, both of West Bend; four grandchildren, Michelle (Lonnie) Moorehead, Sarah (friend Kyle McCafferty) Tuchscherer, Jennifer Roberts, and Peter Roberts; a great-granddaughter, Lauren Moorehead; a sister, Betty (Allan) Schowalter of Port Washington; two sisters-in-law, Naome Pickhard and Edna Schall, both of West Bend; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Walter Tuchscherer, sister-in-law, Margaret Tuchscherer, and three brothers-in-law, Lester Schilling, Robert Pickhard, and Norman Schall.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 23 at 7:00 p.m. at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Rev. James Taylor will officiate and burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
