Richard G. Zimmermann, 95, of West Bend, WI was greeted by our Heavenly Father on March 20, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Dick was born on March 8, 1927, in Sheboygan WI to Gerhard and Erna (nee Runge) Zimmermann. After Erna’s death in 1947, Gerhard married Tryphine Nelson, who had a remarkable influence on his life. Dick married Marilyn Wolfert on June 21, 1952. He is survived by his wife Marilyn; his three children, David (Terry) Zimmermann, Jean (Douglas) Brannagan, and Carol Zimmermann; and five grandchildren.
Dick grew up in Sheboygan WI with his sister Dorothy. After graduating from high school, he served in the Army Air Corp at the end of WWII. He then went on to obtain a degree in Printing Management from Carneige Tech in Pittsburg, PA. It was there he met his future wife, Marilyn.
He began his printing career in 1951 at Central Lithograph in Cleveland OH and went on to work with his father at Zimmermann Printing in Sheboygan WI. After his fathers’ death, Dick ran the company until 1998. The legacy of Zimmermann Printing Company has been continued by his son, David. One of the highlights of Dick’s professional career was serving on the board of directors at Acuity Insurance for 23 years.
Dick had many interests including Kiwanis, stamp club, golf, tennis, and bridge. He and Marilyn enjoyed traveling all over the US and the world.
A family funeral service is planned.
A Memorial fund has been established in his name at the Sheboygan Salvation Army.
