Ricky L. Schmidt, 52, of rural Plymouth, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee.
He was born on January 3, 1960, in Plymouth, the son of Elmer and Lois (Stange) Schmidt, and he was a graduate of Kewaskum High School.
Ricky had been an auctioneer since 1988, a career he had passion for. In 1991 he established his own business, Schmidt Auction Service in Plymouth. Ricky was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Dundee.
He enjoyed hunting, farming, the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. He will be deeply missed by his family, many friends and by all who knew him.
Those Ricky leaves behind to cherish his memory include his parents, Elmer and Lois Schmidt of Adell; a brother, James (Dina) Schmidt of Beechwood; a sister, Lynn (Kevin) Thull of St. Michaels; two nephews, Austen and Brent, other relatives and many friends.
Ricky was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Otto and Irma Schmidt and his maternal grandparents, Albert and Florence Stange.
Funeral services for Ricky were held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dundee. Rev. Richard Schliewe officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.
Relatives and friends called on Tuesday at the church from noon until the time of services.
Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or Waucousta Lutheran Grade School are appreciated.
The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum was entrusted with Ricky’s arrangements.
