Rita A. Lackas (nee Rahmer), 85, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024, with her family by her side.
Rita was born on January 4, 1939, in Milwaukee to the late Joseph and Irene Rahmer (nee Buechel). Rita was united in marriage to Eugene “Gene” Lackas on April 18, 1959, at St. Claudius Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Eugene passed away on June 17, 2011. Rita was very involved with Theresa and the community. She loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother.
Those left to cherish Rita’s memory include her children, Allan (Kim) Lackas of Brownsville, Dean Lackas, and Sandy (JR) Koenigs both of Theresa; seven grandchildren, Chris Lackas, Ben Lackas, Denise (Blair) Bailey, Bryan Lackas, Trevor (Sam) Koenigs, Amber (Matt) Kilgas, and Chelsey (Joe) Mastey; seven great-grandchildren, Oliver Kilgas, Alister Kilgas, Arthur Koenigs, Weston Mastey, Hailey Mastey, Mason Mastey, and Adalynne Bailey; four sisters, Carol (Richard) Laudolff, Marge Bera, Doris Kapellen, and Patricia Simon (Joe); two brothers, Jim Rahmer (Marsha) and Joe Rahmer; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, husband, and parents’ in-law, Rita is preceded in death by daughter, Debbie (Joe) Weyer; daughter in-law, Patti Lackas; two sisters, Jean Resop (Norman) and Rose (Ottie) Schneider; three brothers, Donald (Virginia) Rahmer, George (Elsie) Rahmer, and John Rahmer; three brother in-laws, Jack Bera, Joe Kapellen, and Joe Simon.
VISITATION: Rita’s family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 102 Church Street, Theresa, WI 53091, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: A Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at St. Theresa Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. with Father Miniatt officiating the Mass. Burial will follow at the Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made out in memory of Rita to St. Theresa Catholic Church.
