Roald H. Buerger

Roald "Chink" Buerger, 92, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center, West Bend.

He was born on Dec. 3, 1913 in Lansboro, Minnesota to the late Edward and Annette (nee Lee) Buerger. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland. He was united in marriage to Catherine Gollberg on May 30, 1957 in Milwaukee. He was employed as an excavator tester at Harnischfeger until his retirement in September 1976. Roald and Catherine moved from Milwaukee to West Bend in 1987. He was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine; a sister, Carol Hickey of West Bend; a nephew, Bill (Mary) Gollberg II of New Berlin; two great-nephews, Andy and Jeff Gollberg; other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 15 at 6:00 p.m. at Myrhum - Patten Funeral & Cremation Service, West Bend, with Rev. Robert Hoehner of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church (809 S. 6th Ave. West Bend, WI 53095) would be appreciated.
