Robert A. "Monk" Biersack, age 72, of West Bend, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2005 at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, West Bend.
He was born on July 16, 1932 in West Bend to the late John and Anna (nee Neuy) Biersack. He served in the U.S. Army during Korea in the 82nd airborne, and made 21 jumps. On Oct. 31, 1970 he was united in marriage to Charlotte Sorensen-Clark in Rockton, IL.
Bob owned and operated Barton Construction Company for 40 years until retiring in 1997. He was a member of the American Legion Post #2930 and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1398 since 1974. Bob was also an avid hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; a step-son, Charles (Marian) Clark of West Bend; two grandchildren, Marcia (Chad) Tamez of Jackson, and Stacy (Jim) Reuter of Kewaskum; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Tamez; a brother, John Biersack of West Bend; three sisters-in-law, Elvira Biersack of West Bend, Mary Biersack of Kewaskum, and Gloria Dautermann of Beloit; a brother-in-law Douglas (Betty) Sorensen of Heartland; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ernestine Knoeck, Delores Gundrum and Leona Langenecker; three brothers, Victor Biersack, Jerome Biersack, and Leonard Biersack; a sister-in-law Margaret Olson; and a brother-in-law Robert Dautermann.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday March 6th at 4:00 p.m. at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, West Bend, with Rev. Thomas Biersack officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, West Bend, on Monday at 11:00a.m. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
