Robert J. "Ebs" Eberly, age 55, of the town of Addison, lost his courageous battle with cancer on February 24, 2005 surrounded by his family at St. Joseph's Community Hospital in West Bend.
He was born on February 21, 1950 in West Bend to Eugene and Jacqueline (nee Hood) Eberly Sr. and grew up on Big Cedar Lake. Following his graduation from Slinger High School in 1968 he attended the University of Wisconsin Whitewater.
Robert was united in marriage to Kim Frederick on November 13, 1971 at the Chapel of the Cross in Milwaukee.
He began working for Acme Printing Ink Co. and was an off set technical services personnel. He was employed there for 20 years before the name was changed to INX International where he remained for another 14 years. During his time with the company he had the opportunity to live in several different states including Illinois, Arizona, Texas and Wisconsin.
When Ebs wasn't working he enjoyed golfing, bowling, cooking, and using the computer. He was also an avid Nascar fan. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and grandchildren and was always willing to lend a hand.
He is survived by his wife Kim; three children, Kelly (Jesse) Ortlieb of West Bend, Scott (Zura) Eberly of Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA, and Eric (Fran) Eberly of Mayville; five grandchildren, Moriah Ortlieb, Ayla and Logan Eberly, Anthony Blum, and Kathleen Gauthier; his mother, Jacqueline Eberly of Rolling Meadows, IL; a brother, Eugene (Karen) Eberly Jr. of Woodstock, IL; four sisters, Sandy Verba and her friend Bill of Arlington Height, IL, Sue Eberly of Lake Zurich, IL, Lugene Eberly of Rolling Meadow, IL, and Sheree Eberly of Rolling Meadow, IL; father and mother -in-law, Ronald and Fern Frederick of North Land O'Lakes; brothers-in-law, Mark and Paul Frederick of Muskego; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene; a special aunt, Elizabeth Regner; and a niece, Stacey Frobel.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2005 at 4:00 pm at Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service of West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the time of service.
