Robert H. Ehnert, age 64, of West Bend, passed away Friday, January 13, 2006 at St. Joseph's Hospital in the town of Polk.
He was born on May 5, 1941 in West Bend to the late Henry and Esther (nee Vollendorf) Ehnert, and graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1960. On May 8, 1965 Bob was united in marriage to Carol Gust at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend.
Bob worked for the City of West Bend for 20 years in the Dept. of public works. He then was employed as a school bus driver for Johnson Bus Company and the West Bend School District, and later as a motor coach driver for Designers of Travel Unlimited and Jones Motor Coach in Elkhorn. He retired in 1990. Bob was an active member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Newburg, a long time volunteer for the American Red Cross, and a former member of the West Bend Volunteer Fire Dept.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; two children, Lynelle (Scott) Eldredge of Marinette, and Rev. Thomas Ehnert of Midland, MI; four grandchildren, Jordan, Scott Jr., Allyssa, and Matthew Eldredge; three sisters-in-law, Inez Schwoch, Bernadine Faul, and Faith Gust, all of West Bend; two brothers-in-law, Roger (Elaine) Gust, and Richard (Marilyn) Gust, both of West Bend; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services to celebrate Bob's life will be held on Tuesday, January 17th at 7:00 pm at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Newburg. Rev. Jon A. Baumann will officiate. Visitation will be at the church only on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 am in St. John's Cemetery, Newburg.
