Robert E. "Bob" Laetsch, age 82, of West Bend, found Eternal peace with God on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc.
He was born on July 8, 1928 in Milwaukee to the late Otto and Anna (nee Addicks) Laetsch. Bob was baptized as a child of God on August 18, 1928 and confirmed on May 24, 1942 at Divine Charity Ev. Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. On April 23, 1949, he was united in marriage to Lucille Doege. Bob served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He worked for the City of Milwaukee Police Department. Bob retired in 1981 and he and Lucie moved from Milwaukee to Minocqua. In 1994, they made West Bend their home.
Bob was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church and the Zion Church Choir. He was a member of the Retired Police Association of Milwaukee, American Legion Police Post #415 and WELSMEN.
Bob was the beloved husband of Lucie; loving father of Randall (D'Ann) Laetsch and Nancy (friend, Bert Joseph) Metcalf; adoring grandpa to Erin (Nathan) Williams and Kelsey Laetsch. He will also be remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives, and many friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, George Laetsch.
A Christian Memorial service in remembrance of Bob will be held Saturday, February 5th at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, 6438 Hwy. D, Allenton. Rev. Steve Bode will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
