Robert "Bob" Raether, 57, of West Bend, passed away Friday, August 17, 2007 at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee.
He was born on August 10, 1950 in West Bend to Lester and Ruth (nee Mauer) Raether. After being with the love of his life, Michelle LaVanway, for 13 years they were united in marriage on December 16, 2000.
Bob enjoyed the time he spent working at Wal-Mart in West Bend. He liked to spend time outdoors hiking, fishing, mushroom hunting and vacationing in Eagle River. He also enjoyed classic cars and Harley-Davidsons.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle; his mother, Ruth Raether of West Bend; two sisters, Carol (Dennis) Pusch of Kewaskum, and Karen (Kevin) Kerr of Milwaukee; two brothers, Dale (Kathy) Raether of Dundee, and Steve (Petra) Raether of Campbellsport; his Godmother, Gertrude Backhaus of West Bend; two sisters-in-law, Beverly (Edward) Mayer of Slinger, and Denise Lenhardt of Theresa; two brothers-in-law, David (Barbara) LaVanway of Fond du Lac, and Phillip (Diane) LaVanway of Berlin; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Raether.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will be in Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac.
