Rodger Adolph Wenninger, age 74, of Fond du Lac, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 28, 2006.
He was born on November 5, 1931 in the town of Lomira, the son of the late Jacob and Lucy (Oechsner) Weninger. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and served his country in the U. S. Air Force. After his honorable discharge, he was employed by Boeing Aircraft Company, later by A.O. Smith in Milwaukee and by Maysteel Corporation for many years.
Rodger was a member of Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fond du Lac.
Survivors include four brothers, Robert (Pilar) Weninger of the town of Lomira, Michael (Rosemary) Weninger of Van Dyne, Kenneth Weninger of East Dubuque, Illinois and George (Mary Ann) Weninger of Thorp; two sisters, Elizabeth Beck of Bettendorf, Iowa and Lucille Nowakoski of Milwaukee; three brothers-in-law, LeRoy Ritger of West Bend, Jerome Emmer of Allenton and Richard Feucht of Brownsville, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Cornelius Weninger; four sisters, Mary Weninger in infancy, Imelda Ritger, Caroline Emmer and Margaret Feucht; a brother-in-law, Robert Nowakoski and a sister-in-law, Eva Weninger.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Catholic Church, S. Peters & Western Avenue, Fond du Lac. Father Patrick Heppe officiated and burial, with military graveside rites, followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Lomira.
Relatives and friends called on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
