Roger A. Batterman, age 73, of Mayville, was called to his eternal home to be with God on Friday, November 16, 2012 while surrounded by his loving family at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. Roger was born on July 5, 1939 in Fond du Lac to the late Theodore and Virginia (nee Swantz) Batterman. As a boy, Roger attended Westline School; and in 1960 was united in marriage to Bonnie Walters. Roger loved farming and spent his entire life as a dairy farmer. He enjoyed growing flowers and gardening. Roger liked making maple syrup and was known for his good cooking. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Roger is survived by his four children, Terry Batterman, Deb (Stephen) Gundrum, Patti (Russ) Wondra, and Kim (Pedro) Murillo; ten grandchildren, Sara (fiancAC.e Cody Strook), Rebecca, Joshua, Ashley, Ben, James, Brooke, Moriah, Thalia, and Adrian; his siblings, David (Kathy) Batterman, Sandra (Roy) Lichtenberg, and Dennis (Laura) Batterman; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Roger was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Jacob Isaac. Funeral Services in honor of Roger will be held on Tuesday, November 20th at 2:00 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville. Rev. Barry Hoerz will officiate and burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
