Roger J. Huckstep, 62, of Slinger, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa.
He was born December 8, 1947 in Milwaukee to Frank and Elaine (nee Klein) Huckstep. He was united in marriage to Barbara A. Blood on April 12, 1969 at Wauwatosa Presbyterian Church.
Roger was employed as a Maintenance Electrician Manager at Rexnord, Navistar, and Premier Aluminum for many years. He was a firefighter and EMT with the Hartland Fire Dept for 14 years and served as Captain of the Hartland Fire Dept. for 5 years. Roger was also a WIAA football referee for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; three sons, Eric (Linda) Huckstep of Oconomowoc, Kevin (Amy) Huckstep of East Troy, and Brian (Katrina) Huckstep of Hartford; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Krista, Joey, Kayla, Abby, Cal, Case, and Devon; his mother, Elaine Huckstep of Milwaukee; two sisters, Karen (Rob) Ware of Milwaukee, and Sandy (Curt) Gemmel of Milwaukee; a brother-in-law, Tom (Laura) Blood of Milwaukee; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Huckstep.
Funeral services in remembrance of Roger will be held on Tuesday, June 22 at 7:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 2881 Division Rd., Jackson. Rev. Paul Mittermaier will officiate. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
