Roger "Rod" Pallowick, age 90, was born to eternal life on Thursday, May 7, 2015.
He was born on May 12, 1924 in Milwaukee to the late Charles and Mabel (nee Sandberg) Pallowick. He married Gertrude "Trudy" Primasing on June 17, 1944 in Henderson, KY, and was a most devoted husband and father.
Rod served in the U.S. Army during WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was employed at A.O. Smith for 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was a life-time member of Mid-Continent Railway Museum where he spent many years engineering and restoring steam trains. He was also a member of American Legion Post #36 and St. John's Lutheran Church, Jackson.
He is survived by his wife, Trudy; two children, Cheri Krieger and Chuck Pallowick; seven grandchildren, Nicole (David) Priebe, Danielle (Jason) Cawley, Andrea (Matt) Barre, Tom (Sandy) Krieger, Michelle (Trevor) Morris, Jason (Katy) Schuff, and Jacob Pallowick; ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; a cousin, Helen Rooney; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Donna Miller.
A funeral service in remembrance of Rod will be held on Friday, May 15 at 12:00 Noon at St. John's Lutheran Church, 2881 Division Rd., Jackson. Rev. Paul Mittermaier will officiate and burial will follow in Arlington Park Cemetery, Greenfield. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
