Roger J. Stern, 66, of West Bend, died of cancer on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital, West Bend.
He was born on July 30, 1948 in West Bend to Edward and Virginia (nee Knoeck) Stern. He graduated from West Bend High School in 1966 and then served in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1972. Roger married Rosemarie Brunette on December 6, 1969 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend.
Roger was employed at the Gehl Company in West Bend for 17 years and then went to work at KSM in Germantown for more than 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing Sheepshead, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie; two sons, Jay (Cindy Petty) Stern and Ryan (Jaime) Stern; three grandchildren, Abby, Breeana and Quentin; his father, Edward Stern; a sister, Cheryl (Paul) Schairer; a nephew, Eric Schairer; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Stern.
A funeral service in remembrance of Roger will be held on Monday, September 22 at 5:00 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend, with Deacon Mark Jansen of Holy Angels Catholic Church officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
