Roger L. Streese, age 63, of West Bend, passed away Friday August 10, 2007 as a result of injuries sustained in an airplane accident.
He was born on May 17, 1944 in Hartford to the late Louis and Lillian (nee Messer) Streese. Roger graduated from Hartford High School in the class of 1962, after which he joined the National Guard. He lived in Hubertus and worked at several jobs until moving to West Bend in 1978. For the past 30 years he has been employed at the Washington County Highway Department.
On June 11, 1983 Roger was united in marriage to Bonnie Lou Thom at Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church, where he has been an active and faithful member. Although flying was his passion and held a membership in the EAA, he also enjoyed motorcycling and camping at Plymouth Rock.
Roger is survived by his wife, Bonnie Lou; three children, Melissa (Rick) McKee of Saukville, Eric Dvoracek and David Streese, both at home; two grandchildren, Ian and Brennen McKee; a sister Corinne Bokelberg of West Bend; his parents-in-law, LeRoy and Elma Thom of West Bend; two nieces, Kristin and Natalie Bokelberg; a special cousin, Jack (Charlotte) Lepien of Hartford, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Allen Bokelberg.
Funeral services in remembrance of Roger will be held on Thursday August 16th at 4:00 pm at Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church (777 Indiana Ave., West Bend. Rev. Robert Hein will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday at the church only from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in Washington County Memorial Park.
