Roland J. Maul Sr., 97, of Allenton, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Liberty House in Fond du Lac.
Roland was born on June 19, 1917, in Cedarburg, the son of the late John and Anna (Kienou) Maul and on October 5, 1946, he was united in marriage to Edna Zieger at Grace Lutheran Church in Thiensville. Edna preceded Roland in death on April 24, 2005.
Roland was a long time member of the Salem United Church of Christ in the town of Wayne. He was a graduate of Cedarburg High School and worked for many years at Regalware. Roland enjoyed watching sports, taking care of his lawn and gardening.
Those Roland leaves behind to cherish his memory include six children, Carol Meyer of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Mary (Rich) Hornburg of Eden, Roland (Sheri Meyers) Maul Jr. of Cascade, James (Carol) Maul of Allenton, Betty Maul of Fort Atkinson and Dale (LeAnne) Maul of Lomira; 14 grandchildren, Christopher Meyer, Karin Meyer, Michael (fiancé, Stacy Birschhbach) Hornburg, Betty Jo (Brian) Sroda, Daniel (Tasha) Hornburg, Sabrina (Ryan) Ojibway, Stephanie (fiancé, Owen) Maul, Jonathan (Anne) Maul, Connie (Johren) Frydenlund, Sherry (Jon) Boedeker, Casey Maul, Megan (special friend, Jessie) Maul, Heather (special friend, Josh) Maul and Melissa (Brad) Bartelt; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marcella (Don) Demerath of Thiensville and Madelyn (Don) Blaubach of Cedarburg; a sister-in-law, Shirley (Howard) Laubenstein of Campbellsport, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Roland was preceded in death by a son, Stuart Maul and a granddaughter, Tiffany Maul.
Private family services for Roland will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Salem United Church of Christ in the town of Wayne are appreciated.
