Ronald A. "Ron" Mueller, age 68, passed away Thursday March 26, 2015 surrounded by his loving family at The Kathy Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on August 19, 1946 in Sheboygan to the late Norbert and Ottilia (nee Schladweiler) Mueller. At an early age the family moved to Fredonia, where he grew up. He attended St. Rose Grade School, and was a 1964 graduate of Port Washington High School.

He was employed at Gilson Bros. Co. in Fredonia for two years, before serving his country in the United States Army from June 1966 through June 1968. After his honorable discharge, he returned to work at Gilson Bros for a short time before moving to West Bend.

On May 31, 1969 Ron was united in marriage to Jane Kasten of West Bend, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Fredonia. The couple made their home in West Bend, where they raised two beautiful daughters.

In August of 1969, Ron began working at the West Bend Post Office as a City Letter Carrier, a position he held for 24 years, the last few of those years he was also a part-time supervisor. He retired from the US Postal Service on Dec. 31, 2004. After his retirement, he began working part-time at the West Bend Shopko Store for seven years, and then resigned because of health issues.

Ron was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Parish, the American Legion Warren Kane Post #410 in Fredonia where he held several offices including Commander, the Fred A. Schaefer VFW Post #1393 of West Bend, and the National Association of Postmasters of the United States.

Ron enjoyed music, and for twelve years he played in a band called "The Bel-Aires" with his brothers, Frank and Ray and some friends. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping at the family's mobile home on Lake Ellen in Cascade. He cherished his family and his grandchildren, and especially enjoyed the summers when all the family came out to the lake to go camping and fishing.
