Ronald R. "Ron" Buck, age 66, of West Bend, passed away Friday, January 30, 2009 at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital Ozaukee.
He was born on December 23, 1942 in Appleton to the late Harold and Mildred (nee Schinke) Buck, and graduated from Appleton West High School in the class of 1961. On January 21, 1977 Ron was united in marriage to Debra Schmidt in Las Vegas, NV, and together they made their home in West Bend.
Ron owned and operated George Webb's for many years before starting Buckskinn Catering, and for the past several years has also been in partnership with his children in operating the Luxury Box. He enjoyed working every party as much as the people who hosted them.
Ron was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Member and past board member of the Wisconsin Restaurant Association, and has held the title of State Restaurateur of the year . He also helped the Saukville Jaycee's for many years raise money for Cystic fibrosis. Ron dearly loved his family and his great sense of humor brought a smile to all he met.
He is survived by his wife, Debra; four children, Brian (Cindy Hansen) Buck of West Bend, Bradley (Jessica McGinnis) Buck of Random Lake, Hallie K (Chris) Olson of West Bend, and Travis Buck of West Bend; two grandchildren, Jacob Buck, and Sawyer Buck; his mother-in-law, Bettie Schmidt of Coral Springs, FL; his father-in-law, Vernon (Sandy) Schmidt of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Corliss Kazemba, and her son Taylor Kazemba both of Coral Springs, FL; other relatives and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mildred; a daughter, Bobbie; and two dear friends, Todd Krenek, and Joe Fuehrer.
A memorial service in remembrance of Ron will be held on Thursday February 5th at 5:00 pm at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church (809 S. 6th Ave.). Rev. George Mumm will officiate. A reception and dinner in honor of Ron will follow at the Luxury Box (1204 HWY 33 East).
Memorials to the Cystic fibrosis Foundation, the Wisconsin Restaurant Association Scholarship Fund, or the Columbia St. Mary's Ozaukee Foundation are appreciated by the family.
