Ronald E. Glassmyer, 83, did not come home from the hospital this time. Instead, he went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 6, 2021.
Ron was born to Archie and Ruth (nee Hendrix) on May 20, 1938 in Mount Joy, PA. He joined the Army at 19 and was in the Transportation Corp. He had often told us of his trips to the North Pole, Okinawa, and being stationed in France. While in France, he rode motorcycles and brought that joy home with him. You could often see him riding the country roads on his Suzuki 400. He also got enjoyment out of taking care of his yard, feeding the wild turkeys and stray cats, watching for deer, or just picking up sticks. He liked putting puzzles together, playing computer solitaire, and talking to his neighbors. He married Vicki, who was by his side for 51 years. They had a son Robert and a daughter Dawn. Ron also had a daughter from a previous marriage, Cathy.
In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by a baby sister, step-dad, three brothers, aunts and uncles, and a grandson, Justin Lee.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Vicki would like to thank all the nurses at Fifth Floor South of SSM Health Hospital in Fond du Lac for taking care of Ron, especially Hannah for being with Ron during his final hours.
Rest in peace, Ron; we love you and we miss you!
The Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service has been entrusted with Ron’s arrangements. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.myrhum-patten.com.
