Ronald A. Newman, age 74, of Chilton, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2008 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
He was born on January 31, 1934 in Milwaukee to the late Andrew and Beatrice (Schmidt) Newman. He graduated from Washington High School class of 1952 and went on to attend M.S.O.E. graduating with a degree in engineering. On January 7, 1956, he was united in marriage to Cecile Leygraf in Milwaukee. In 1973 they moved to Richfield. Ron was employed at Evinrude in Milwaukee for 17 years before working at Harley Davidson in Milwaukee for 21 years until retiring in 1995. Ron and Cecile then moved to the east side of Lake Winnebago. He loved to fish, hunt, Garden, and was a long time member of Toastmasters.
Ron is survived by his wife, Cecile of Chilton; four children, Greg Newman of Menasha, Julie (Mike) DiPiazza of West Bend, Elizabeth (Ed) Bergmann of Slinger, and Andrea (FiancAC. John Goodling) Wright of Hartford; 15 grandchildren, Matthew, Melissa, Monica, Marcus, and Michael Newman, Nicole, Amanda, and Aaron Noonan, Cory, Jordan and Alec Bergmann, and Angela, John, Alicia and Amelia Wright; two sisters-in-law, Audrey (Joseph) Bowen of Las Vegas, NV and Marion (Ronald) Bell of Oshkosh; and other dear relatives and close friends.
He is preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Ziga and Sharon Nelson.
A memorial service in remembrance of Ron will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home in West Bend. Pastor David Cooper of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Slinger, will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service.
