Ronald E. Romanski, age 71, of West Bend, passed away Tuesday June 26, 2007 at Kathy Hospice surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 29, 1935 in La Crosse to the late Joseph and Anne (nee Rumble) Romanski and was raised in Wisconsin Rapids.
After high school Ron served in the United States Army in Korea. On June 7, 1958 Ron was united in marriage to Barbara Johnson in Wisconsin Rapids. They moved with their family to West Bend in 1967.
Ron worked for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue until retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Parish and the Lt. Ray Dickop American Legion Post # 36.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Barbara; three children, Joe (Linda) Romanski III of Hartford, Julie Ness of West Bend, and Jennifer (Daniel) Schmidt of West Bend; seven grandchildren, Sarah Romanski, Joseph Romanski IV, Tanya Nummerdor, James Ness, Alex Ness, Tanner Schmidt, and Cara Schmidt; a brother William Romanski of Wisconsin Rapids; other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial in remembrance of Ron will be held on Friday June 29th at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Parish (1610 Monroe St.). Rev. Michael Moran will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday at the church only from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. Memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated. Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral & Cremation Service is assisting the family.
A "very special thank you" is extended to the staff of Kathy Hospice for their dedication to the loving care of Ron during the closing days of his life.
