Ronald A. Scheerer, age 73, of West Bend, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital in the town of Polk.
Ron was born on August 27, 1933 in Milwaukee to the late August and Hazel (nee Schmidt) Scheerer. He was united in marriage to Nancy Walther on June 3, 1954 in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on April 28, 1976. Ron was employed as a truck driver for Tews Lime and Cement for over 30 years before his retirement. He was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Newburg and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for many years. He was also a proud member of AA for over 27 years. Ron enjoyed fishing, boating, and spending time with his family.
Ron is survived by his three daughters, Debbie (Dan) Tews of West Bend, Sandi (Dan) Rebstock of Wind Lake, and Ronda (John) Stowers of West Bend; five grandchildren, Cheri (Matt) Sheehy of Fond du Lac, Boomer (Mandy) Tews of Kaukauna, Dustin and Ashley Rebstock of Wind Lake, and Max Stowers of West Bend; four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Sean Sheehy of Fond du Lac, and Lexi and Wally Tews of Kaukauna. He is further survived by his two sisters Dorothy Beyer of Phoenix, AZ, and Lucille (Byron) Dei of Kewaskum; special friend, Jan Gesch of Big Cedar Lake; her daughter, Sue (Craig) Claerbout; and her granddaughter, Nicole Claerbout
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his twin brother, Russell Scheerer.
A memorial service in celebration of Ron's life will be held on Saturday, August 25, at 4:00 pm, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Newburg (623 Congress Dr. Newburg, WI 53060). A visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, at the church from 1:00pm until the time of service at 4:00 pm.
Memorials to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Newburg, or to the American Red Cross West Bend Chapter would be greatly appreciated by the family.
