Rose A. Bartel, nee Sparacio, 83, of West Bend, passed away Friday, December 14, 2007 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center, West Bend.
She was born on April 22, 1924 in Milwaukee to the late Nicholo and Filippa (nee Canzoneri) Sparacio. She was united in marriage to Edward Bartel on April 24, 1948 in Milwaukee.
Rose attended Mount Sinai Nursing School and began her nursing career at Mount Sinai Hospital. She was later the Head Surgical Nurse at West Allis Memorial Hospital until retiring in 1987. In 1992, Rose and Edward moved from Milwaukee to Cedar Community in West Bend.
Rose loved extensive traveling with Edward. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting and spending time with family.
She will be sadly missed by her best friend and husband, Edward; two sons, Robert (Jane) Bartel of Cross Plains and David (Susan) Bartel of Green Bay; six grandchildren, Joe, Zach, Nicole, Jennifer and her fiancAC. Joshua, Jonathan, and Nicholas; two sisters-in-law, Betty Sparacio of Milwaukee, and Leona Bartel of Fond du Lac; cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Marie (Bill) Schultek; three brothers, Sam Sparacio, Vito (Carmen) Sparacio, and Tony (Esther) Sparacio; a sister-in-law, Lorena Bartel, and two brothers-in-law, Henry (Violet) Bartel and Harold (Joyce) Bartel.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church, 323 S. Fifth Ave., West Bend. The family will greet visitors at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
