Roy "Andy" Anderson, age 80, of Jackson formerly of West Bend, was called home Sunday, June 6, 2010 to be with his Lord.
He was the youngest of six children, born on December 19, 1929 to the late Oscar and Teckla Marie (nee Johnson) Anderson in Manistique, MI. Andy moved to West Bend as a young man. On June 3, 1950, he was united in marriage to Lila Hetzel at St. Paul Evangelical in Waubeka.
Roy enjoyed a long career of various jobs over the years which included working for Graphic, Inc. in Cedarburg as a Binder. After retirement, he worked part time for the Envirotest Wisconsin, LLC in West Bend. Roy enjoyed collecting antiques, as well as attending auctions and flea markets were he was a vendor. He also enjoyed making furniture and yard decorations out of wood, playing dart ball, deer hunting and picking blue berries.
Roy loved being with his family and was a good grandpa to all his grand children and a friend to many. He had the rare ability to talk to anyone without prejudging them. He was also a faithful husband who stood by his wife through 8 years of Alzheimer's disease prior to his death.
Roy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lila Anderson of Jackson; his three children, Maria (Pete) Krueger of Iron Ridge, Todd (Amy) Anderson of Florence, and Paul (Kelly) Anderson of West Bend; eight grandchildren, Angie Hardt, Christy Mueller-Anderson, Jack Anderson, Karmen Anderson, Casey Anderson, Michael Anderson, Justin Anderson and Kristin Anderson; one great-grandchild, Dalton Tubbs; one sister, Linnea (Fred) Melius of Slinger, four brothers, Everett Anderson of West Bend, Verner Anderson of Michigan, Birger (Pauline) Anderson of Florida and Mauritz Anderson of Florida, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Carmen; four sisters-in-law, Lula Anderson, Helen Anderson, Earlene Anderson and Sylvia (Carl) Hauch; and one brother-in-law, Roman Hetzel.
Funeral Services in honor of Roy will be held on Thursday, June 10th at 7:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 140 N. 7th Avenue, West Bend with Rev. David Schoob officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 4:00 pm until the time of the service. Burial will take place, Saturday, June 12th at 10:00 am at St. Paul Ev. Cemetery.
