Roy H. Krueger

Roy H. Krueger, 81, of Lomira, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.


He was born on November 2, 1927, in Suring, the son of the late Arnold and Emma (Jeske) Krueger, and on February 14, 1953, he was united in marriage to Harriet Luft at Salem United Methodist Church in Lomira.


Roy served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was the Postmaster at the Lomira post office, retiring in 1988 after 24 years of service. Roy was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira, the Lomira Lions Club, the Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Post 347 Lomira and the National Association of Postmasters. Roy enjoyed hunting and fishing.


Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Harriet; his son, Gary (Cindy) Krueger of Eagan, Minnesota; three grandsons, Brian, Scottie and Eric Krueger; a brother, Alan Krueger of Rhinelander; four sisters, Rose Hein of Suring, Betty Whiting of Lena, Shirley Ruelle of Richfield and Pauline (Howard) King of Marinette, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Walter Hein, Gerald Whiting and Robert Ruelle; a sister-in-law, Lenore Krueger and a nephew, Perry Whiting.


Funeral services for Roy were held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2009, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 300 Church Street in Lomira. Rev. John Hobbins officiated and burial followed at Salem Cemetery in Lomira.


Relatives and friends called on Monday at the church from noon until the time of services.
