Roy Wayne Strom

June 5, 1939 — February 25, 2025

West Bend

Roy Wayne Strom passed peacefully with close family at his side on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the age of 85 years. He was born June 5, 1939, in Oconto, Wisconsin, to the late Carl and Ruth Strom. Roy married his beloved wife of 61 years, Nancy Strom on July 13, 1963.

Roy was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by peaceful and unwavering love. His passing has left an immense void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him.

Roy is the loving father of Gary Strom, and Sheila (Mark) Baka. Proud grandfather of 5 grandchildren: Shawn (Jade) Baka, Tyler (Kelli) Baka, Corey (Jennifer) Strom, Shannon (Cole) Weinandt, and Courtney Strom; along with 13 great-grandchildren: Kyli, Chase, Logan, Colton, Alexis, Madison, Carson, Lydia, Leah, Isaac, Legna, Paisley, and Charlotte. Roy is further survived by his wife, Nancy; two brothers, Alvin (Butch) and Gerald (Jerry); as well as one sister, Ruby.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his two brothers, Robert and Vernon; as well as four sisters, Doris, Bernice, Lois, and Arlene.

Roy worked at Dacco in Jackson, WI and retired from there after 50 years in 2005. In Roy’s younger years, he enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and camping with his brothers. With his wife beside him, he later became an avid RV traveler and visited nearly all 50 US States. Roy was quite the handy-man and took great pride in remodeling and upkeeping his home of 45 years. He was a simple man that loved his simple pleasures, specifically carrot cake, coffee, and his 5 p.m. dinners. He’d spend his summers tending to yard work and riding his tractor, frequenting his great-grandchildren’s sporting events; swimming in his home pool with family; and going for car rides with Nancy, his great-grandchildren, and his beloved puppies, Shasta and Ella.

Those who knew Roy will remember him for his calm yet powerful presence. He loved his family, enjoyed lending a helping hand, and making those around him smile and laugh with his quiet wittiness. May his memory be a blessing and carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.
